Welcome to my creative corner! I’m Kanak Koyari – an architect turned fiber artist, designer, and educator behind Kwirks by kay (and KBK Design Ventures).
My journey into the world of fiber arts is deeply rooted in my architectural background. Where I once designed physical spaces, I now sculpt with yarn, translating geometry, structure, and spatial harmony into wearable art and intricate home decor. For me, crochet, knitting, and macrame are more than crafts—they are a medium of architectural expression.
What Drives My Craft
I am endlessly fascinated by the intersection of texture, color, and technique. Whether I’m playing with specialty yarns—from luxurious silk merino and mohair to structured raffia and metallic threads—or engineering complex stitches like center-out mosaic crochet, the Jasmine stitch, and embossed textures, every piece is a labor of love.
My design philosophy is simple: create pieces that are bold, tactile, and full of personality. From hyper-realistic botanical creations (like my signature Tangled-inspired magical flower) to cozy statement cardigans, mosaic blankets, and structured bags, I love pushing the boundaries of what modern crochet can be.
